Martin Posner is a fine art photographer who credits much of his inspiration to the unforgettable images he observed in his travels abroad and the non-stop panora- ma that plays out every day in his home city of New York. He has been passionate about photography ever since he was ten years old. Working under the tutelage of his mentor and uncle, renowned photographer Arthur Greenstein, he began his photographic education, help- ing his uncle print and develop the portrait and fine art work that Greenstein was noted for.
During the turbulent 1960's and early 70's, much of Posner's work centered around photographing the many demonstrations taking place in and around New York relating to the Vietnam War and the various women's movements. At the same time, Posner collaborated with financier-poet Bert Padell, the business manager of rock musicians, and groups, such as “Humble Pie”,”Alice Cooper”, and the “J. Geils Band” in the creation of Padell's book of poetry, Reflections 1973 in which Posner's photographs are prominently featured.
In 1983, Posner was presented with the prestigious Nikon Award for Portrait Photography. Shortly thereafter, he was invited to photograph the Concours d' Elegance, the worldwide vintage automobile show, held yearly in Pebble Beach, California.
In the 1990's, Posner's photography was focused prima- rily on the fashion world during the years he was with the Italian design and manufacturing firm, Bruno Magli. Since that time, he has returned to his first love devoting his full time to fine art photography.
