Moon at the End of the Road

$7,500

Mixed Media on Paper

42.25 x 30.5 inches framed

At the end of the road, beneath a pale sky torn by color, she waits—not for someone, but for meaning.

Moon at the End of the Road feels like a quiet invocation — a moment of stillness charged with mystery. The figure, seen from behind, stands on the threshold between what is known and what is unknowable. Her simple white dress evokes purity, solitude, even mourning — but also transformation. The red braid down her back feels almost symbolic, like a cord that ties her to memory or bloodline. She's rooted, yet leaning subtly toward the light ahead.

The background swirls with turbulence — earthy ochres, shadowy greys, hints of bruised purples and electric blue — a sky or a dreamscape, you can’tquite tell. And yet, at the center of this wildness, there’s a yellowish burst —like the moon, or a distant fire, or an awakening. It's not literal light, but it feels luminous. She’s facing it. Waiting. Maybe walking toward it. What makes this painting so powerful is its silence. It says nothing loudly —but everything gently. Grief, hope, longing, strength. It could be the last step of a journey, or the first.
