Sometimes one successful work marks the beginning of a whole series of paintings. So it was with the canvas "Seven Brides", created for an exhibition in New York City a few years ago. The number seven is considered magical and lucky in many European cultures. The text on the painting is a translation of the 13th century Persian poet Rumi:

“The ideal form of everything we see exists without our eyes.It is immortal – only that which we can see must die.When light has gone, or sound has dulled do not complain or cry.They haven’t really disappeared; their mere reflections fly.”
