While her paintings bring to mind Fauvist artists like Matisse and Dufy, Saura is not overly influenced by any single style, reserving for herself a space of pure artistic freedom, childlike wonder, and spontaneity. The interplay of emotion and the natural world is a throughline in her practice, which often incorporates snippets of text, both handwritten and collaged, into landscapes that appear inflected by various moods, from joyful to meditative.
