Deladier Almeida’s landscape paintings exist in a dynamic space between abstraction and realism, transforming the agricultural fields, waterways, and cultivated patterns of rural California into rhythmic compositions of color, geometry, and gesture. Inspired by countless flights over the California landscape, Almeida distills the land into interlocking shapes and shifting perspectives, creating works that feel both carefully observed and imaginatively reinterpreted.

 

In his current exhibition, California Imagined, familiar landscapes become vehicles for exploration and discovery. While rooted in direct observation, the paintings move beyond description, inviting viewers to navigate between recognition and abstraction. Through vibrant color, expressive brushwork, and unexpected spatial relationships, Almeida reveals a landscape that is at once tangible and imagined—one that continues to unfold with each viewing.
